SAYLOVE SATURDAY OCTOBER 26, 2024

Mobilize people and resources to promote positive impacts and change within our communities

Join Us for SAYLOVE Saturday October 26, 2024

This Saturday, we invite all SAYLOVE volunteers and community members to join us for a day of giving back and beautifying our community. We have exciting projects lined up, along with various community initiatives to make a positive impact. And let’s not forget the delicious donuts to kick off the morning and lunch to end the afternoon!

Join hands with us to make our community a better place for all! The Yuba County Resource Conservation District, Yuba Watershed Protection & Fire Safe Council, and SayLove have partnered with California Volunteers, Office of the Governor, Keep America Beautiful and Keep California Beautiful Community Climate Action Day on October 26, 2024!

Join us at YES Charter Academy where volunteers will increase wildfire resiliency at the Academy by removing fire fuel and preparing the space for its future transformation into a vibrant native garden! Participate in this day of service while learning more about local initiatives, followed by a free lunch for volunteers.

Community Climate Action Days give Californians the chance to support projects that protect our communities from climate change while enhancing our quality of life and green spaces. These events are more than service projects—they celebrate what makes our community unique: our food, culture and commitment to a safer, greener and more resilient future.

Come ready to get your hands dirty and help our community thrive. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Yuba City Residents are welcome to utilize this day to remove unwanted trash. Volunteers needed to assist in this event.

YES Community Farmer Appreciation Dinner and Food & Water Festival Success!!

YES Community Farmer Appreciation Dinner and Food & Water Festival Success!!

We are excited to announce that our YES Community Farmer Appreciation Dinner, and our involvement in the Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival was a overwhelming success!
This weekend event brought together so many beautiful community members and put YES Charter on the map as a local food hub here in our area! Woohoo!

Thanks for making the Second Annual Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival a Success!

The sun has set on the 2nd Annual Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival, and what a spectacular weekend it was! We’re still buzzing with the energy of delicious food, engaging workshops, 3 amazing live bands, and the incredible sense of community that filled the air.

A Heartfelt Thank You

This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers, from YES and YFACA crew to workshop presenters. They spent countless hours planning, setting up, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. A huge shout-out to each and every one of them!

We also want to express our deep gratitude to our amazing sponsors, whose generous support made this festival a reality, including:

Celebrating Our Community

A special round of applause goes to all the talented vendors who brought our vision to life. Your delicious food, unique crafts, and passion for local produce made the festival a true feast for the senses. We’re committed to showcasing your expertise and fostering a thriving “local-first” movement in the Yuba Foothills.

Farmers’ Roundtable

Steven Dambeck put the Yuba foothills on the map inviting so many food and farming dignitaries from CDFA, Chico State, UC Davis, Community Alliance of Family Farmers and more.

This was a beautifully facilitated Q &A by Olivia Henry from UCCE between those whose job it is to support local farmers and the farmers themselves. Local wisdom

and insights were provided by an engaged audience and we look forward to continuing this discussion and bringing to life some of the ideas considered.

Farmers’ Appreciation Dinner

A huge thank you to Chef Paul Ladeira, the event organizer Tatiana Kaiser and YES principal and event host Louise Miller. A memorable, music and dance filled celebration of our local farmers to let them know how much we appreciate their hard work. This feast was for them!

Special Host: YES Charter Academy

YES stepped up for both days and Louise Miller reminded us how active YES has become as a food hub in the foothills and an innovative leader in the California Schools Farm to Fork world.

A big thanks to the YES Council and staff (thank you Debbie, BreAnne & Charity and teams!) who made this event run so smoothly and raise the standards to such a professional level.
