“We can help endangered pollinators and their habitats” is the YES First Grade students’ project based learning (PBL) theme. They learned that Western Monarchs are endangered by habitat loss and that Monarchs lay their eggs only on Milkweed plants. Milkweed leaves are food for Monarch larvae! The First Grade students’ goal is to plant 500 Milkweed plants! This will create a Monarch Waystation.Let’s show the YES First Grade students that their community supports their efforts to help Monarch butterflies. The event is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, Keep California Beautiful, Yuba Watershed Protection & Fire Safe Council, SayLove, and the Yuba Resource Conservation District. You are invited to come and help plant Milkweed.
