YES teachers participate in AI Learning Community

Four YES Charter Academy teachers demonstrated their AI pilot project at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA on March 18, 2025. Samira Jahani, 3rd grade teacher, Pippa Fuschich, middle school English teacher, Remi Santiago, middle and high school math teacher, and Leeta-Rose Ballester, 5th grade teacher participated in the AI Exploration Community hosted by Silicon Schools. As part of this learning community they were able to share their AI project and engage in learning about pilot projects from other school teams.

The YES team piloted a Magic School program that empowers students to receive immediate feedback on their writing. YES principal/superintendent, Louise Miller said, “YES teachers are at the cutting edge of integrating technology into their instruction. They are preparing YES students for success in college and career.”

Participants took part in a session led by Alison Lee from The Rithim Project that explored AI and Human Connection. The Rithm Project works to equip the next generation to navigate the evolving AI landscape with awareness, discernment, and agency.
